Toyota adds ‘Horizon’ to Prado Kakadu
Applied to the top-spec Kakadu grade, the ‘Prado Kakadu Horizon’ special edition is predominantly an exterior styling package, adding a front bumper spoiler and spats for the rear bumper, chrome side moulding, chrome-accented mirror covers and clear rear combination lights.
The Horizon also gets standard metallic/pearl paint and Horizon badge on the tailgate.
Inside, there’s illuminated sill scuff plates and two USB charging ports for the third-row seat occupants.
"As the smaller sibling to our LandCruiser 200 Series, the Prado has a strong reputation for its go-anywhere off-road ability and the top-of-the-range Kakadu allows customers to get off the beaten track in superb comfort,” said Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing, Sean Hanley.
"This special edition Horizon variant now adds a further degree of class and style making it a standout for a night out in the city as well."
Running gear is unaltered from the standard Prado Kakadu, meaning a 2.8-litre turbo diesel producing 130kW and 450Nm, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive with low range is standard, as is the crawl control, multi-terrain select and adaptive variable suspension for serious ability in extreme off-road conditions.
Standard Kakadu interior specs include three-zone climate control air conditioning, leather-accented seats, heated/powered front seats, an electrically-adjustable steering column, rear DVD entertainment system and JBL audio system.
Toyota Safety Sense features fitted to this model include lane departure alert, automatic high-beam, active cruise control and pre-collision safety system, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
Priced from $89,590 (+ ORCs), the Prado Kakadu Horizon special edition is a $5,000 premium over the Prado Kakadu.
