Suzuki Australia has confirmed that a five-door version of the Jimny 4x4, revealed in early January, will be coming to Australia later this year.

Officially unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo India (where this 4x4 will also be built), the five-door Jimny is 505mm longer overall, with a 340mm longer wheelbase. Despite this, the five-door remains a four-seater, but presumably with more leg room, especially for the rear seats.
The five-door will run the same drivetrain as the three-door Jimny, which means a 75kW/130Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, choice of four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmissions and a part-time four-wheel drive system with low range.

While full specifications have yet to be revealed, Suzuki Australia state that upgrades have been made to the interior. This likely refers to a larger 9.0-inch centre console touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay Android Auto connectivity seen in Indian market data. The Jimny three-door’s infotainment screen is 7.0 inches with wired connectivity.
Whether these upgrades will apply to both the Lite and GLX grades – and indeed whether the five-door will be offered in these grades at all - is unknown at this stage.
