RAM releases 1500 Black Pack
Based on the RAM 1500 Express, the Black Pack is a dual cab pickup, like the rest of the locally-available RAM 1500 range, but features a distinctive look.
“The RAM 1500 Black Pack slots in neatly between the standard RAM 1500 Express and the luxurious RAM 1500 Laramie to provide a combination of a strong unique visual appeal and the sound of a Hemi V8 that goes to the heart of why hot utes are so popular,” explains Alex Stewart, General Manager of RAM Trucks Australia.
Finished in Brilliant Black metallic paint, the 1500 Black Pack also features black 20-inch alloys, a blackout treatment for the front and rear bumpers, a blackout grille, darkened headlight lenses and black badging.
Power comes from a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 petrol engine producing 291kW and with the Multi-Displacement System that shuts down cylinders under light load to improve fuel economy. A RAM Sport Exhaust is optional to increase the aural impact of the Hemi V8.
An eight-speed automatic is the standard transmission, driving all four wheels through RAM’s dual-range 4WD system.
The standard 6’4” (1.93mt) tray is superior to most utes on the market, while towing capacity (with the standard heavy duty tow bar) is 4.5 tonnes.
Inside, the 3.3 cubic metres of occupant space is also superior to conventional utes, with impressive shoulder and hip room thanks to the RAM’s wider body.
“The RAM 1500 Black Pack does everything in terms of space, towing ability and tray size expected of a class-leading ute,” said Stewart. “The hot V8 ute is back, and it comes in black with the RAM badge front and back!”
Available to order now from RAM dealerships Australia wide, the 1500 Black Pack can be had with the standard rear tub for $84,950 (+ ORCs) or the RamBoxes rear storage system for $89,450 (+ ORCs). The sports exhaust is a $3,266.56 option (excl. fitting).
