Nissan presents 2020 Navara update
Nissan have unveiled their 2020 Navara lineup… and it looks a hell of a lot like the 2019 lineup. For now, the few changes introduced for the new year are confined to dual cab variants and include a new styling pack and in-cabin comfort improvements.
These latest changes follow last year’s introduction of the all-new Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility - controlled via a new 8.0-inch colour touchscreen - that was added to all Navara model grades except the entry-level RX.
“These changes deliver even more of what our customers want from their Navara,” said Nissan Australia managing director Stephen Lester. “Not only do they add more refinement right across the Dual Cab range, but they also unlock a new tough look for one of our most popular, and most accessible, models, the Navara ST.
“Along with the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 3.5-tonne towing capability, class-leading fuel efficiency and a powerful diesel engine backed by Nissan’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, these updates ensure the 2020 Navara remains at the top of its game.”

Black Styling Package
Exclusive to the Navara ST dual cab, the Black Styling Package swaps bright finishes for black on the V-Motion grille, front foglamp surrounds and mirror caps. The alloy sports bar with integral high-mount stop light gets the black treatment, too.
Wheels are upsized from 16-inch to 18-inch with this package and finished in black with machined details on the 5-spoke design.
The Black Styling Package complements the existing black side steps and window surrounds, but details like the door handles, lower window trim and rear bumper remain in chrome.
NVH improvements
With dual cab utes increasingly serving as family transportation these days, calls to improve the in-cabin experience have seen Nissan respond by introducing what they say are significant improvements to NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels.
Applied to all MY20 Navara dual cab variants, the improvements include a new acoustic windscreen that reduces wind and road noise entering the cabin, while new sound-absorbing material has been added to the centre console, firewall and transmission tunnel to reduce noise ingress even further. A new engine cover treatment also contributes to a reduction in engine noise.

Familiar Drivetrain
Engines and transmissions remain unchanged for 2020, with the lower model grades powered by the familiar 2.3-litre turbo diesel producing 120kW and 430Nm, while the upper grades get the twin turbo version of this four-cylinder powerplant, producing 140kW and 450Nm.
The six-speed manual and seven-speed auto transmissions are also unchanged, with manual and auto available across all dual cab grades - RX, SL, ST, ST-X, N-TREK and N-TREK Warrior.
Four-wheel drive systems are the same, too, and applied to model grades in the same way as last year, with 4x2 available on the RX, ST and ST-X dual cab, while the SL, N-TREK and N-TREK Warrior are exclusively four-wheel drive.
Standard Safety
Passive and active safety technologies introduced in past Navara model years carry over for 2020, including the Around View Monitor (on the ST-X, N-TREK and N-TREK Warrior) that presents a bird’s eye view of the vehicle on the 8.0-inch centre touchscreen. Added primarily to assist with parking, the Around View Monitor has applications for off-road use as well. Lower grades get a more conventional reversing camera.
The ST-X, N-TREK and N-TREK Warrior also get Hill Descent Control, while Hill Start Assist is standard across the dual cab range.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Brake Limited Slip Differential (BLSD) is fitted to all MY20 Navara model grades, as is ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and Nissan’s Traction Control System.
Front seatbelts with load limiters and pre-tensioners, seven airbags and twin ISOFix anchorage points are also standard across the Navara dual cab range.

2020 Pricing
Available now, the MY20 Navara dual cab range has increased slightly in pricing, with the ST grade getting the biggest hike of $1,300, while most other grades have increased by less than $1,000.
With no updates on pricing for single cab and king cab body styles, these are presumably unchanged for 2020, but see your Nissan dealer for further details.
All new Navara models and are covered by Nissan’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, a five-year, 24-hour roadside assistance programme and six-year capped-price servicing.
