Mitsubishi to ‘downspec’ new Outlander
Mitsubishi Motors Australia (MMA) has announced a change to the specification of selected grades of the all-new Outlander for 2022, with the ‘downspec’ models due to arrive in April.

MMA says the change is due to ongoing supply constraints and increasing material, manufacturing and logistical costs in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than restrict supply of new vehicles until selected parts become available, MMA have elected to make minor specification changes to selected Outlander grades.
“The All-new Mitsubishi Outlander remains the best-equipped vehicle we have ever sold in Australia, boasting a newly developed platform and powertrain, bold and distinctive exterior styling and a refined interior with high-end finishes,” said Shaun Westcott, Mitsubishi Australia CEO.
For this MY22.5 change, the Outlander’s ES, LS and Aspire grades have all had an item either replaced with a lower spec item or removed entirely.

On the entry-level ES grade, one-touch up/down power window operation will be only available on the driver’s window. On the LS grade, the power tailgate is replaced with a conventional manual tailgate, and on the Aspire grade, the existing fully digital driver’s instrument display is replaced with a 7.0-inch multi-information display.
“These changes to MY22.5 Outlander specification ensure Mitsubishi Motors Australia can secure timely production in these popular grades for our dealer network and customers,” Westcott added.
There is no change to the Outlander Exceed or Exceed Tourer as part of these changes, but both these upper grades have increased in price – the Exceed by $500 and the Exceed Tourer by $1,000.
The MY22.5 Outlander range is due to arrive in Mitsubishi dealerships from April.
