MDC release new XT caravan range
Market Direct Caravans’ Camper Trailers & Offroad Caravan (MDC) have released their latest model – the XT17HRT Family – at the Let’s Go Gold Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo.
What MDC are calling an innovative and dynamic new offroad model at a market leading price point, the XT17HRT Family is a 17-foot, 5-berth off-road caravan that comes to market - after extensive testing and development - with what MDC says is a comprehensive list of standard inclusions to let you not only escape with confidence but also escape for longer.
On the latter point, increased off-the-grid time comes thanks to 875W of rooftop solar power (via 5 x 175W rooftop panels), 400Ah of lithium battery power, a Projecta INVCHR2 inverter charger, auto transfer 2000W pure sine wave inverter and full battery monitoring via a power management app.
Key measures include 2800kg (approx.) Tare weight, 200kg (approx.) towball weight, 700kg payload and 3500kg ATM. Travel dimensions of the XT17HRT Family are 7010mm x 2320mm x 3090mm (LxWxH), expanding when the annex and ensuite tent are in place.
Easily sleeping five people, the flexible internal design of the XT17HRT Family provides several living modes, allowing unparalleled functionality, according to MDC. With a king-size bed (with innerspring mattress) up front, bunk beds that convert to day seating and a spacious café dinette that converts into an additional bed, there is no shortage of living options, while reading lights, power outlets and a Sirocco fan add to the interior comfort and convenience.
In addition to a full internal kitchen (including a 150lt fridge, three-burner hob, rangehood, microwave and water heater), there’s also an external slide-out kitchen (with three-burner hob, sink, storage, slide-out fridge, food prep and serving tables) protected by a power awning, so the whole family can enjoy homemade meals away from home, no matter the weather.
Other features include two 80-litre fresh water tanks, an 80-litre grey water tank, dual gas bottle and jerrycan holders, front-mounted toolbox, hot/cold external shower (including wall-mounted ensuite tent), internal shower and cassette toilet, glazed/screened windows, Bluetooth stereo head unit and HD LED TV, as well as LED lighting and multiple power outlets inside and out (12V, USB, 240V, Anderson plug, etc.).
In terms of safety inclusions, the XT17HRT Family comes with features like a Trail-Assure BG-5000 electronic stability controller, an MDC LOK coupling lock and a wireless rear view camera as standard.
Also standard is air conditioning, diesel heating, a heavy-duty ARKXO70 jockey wheel and plenty more.
