Mazda confirms pricing for new BT-50 grades
After announcing new model grades and a new engine option for their BT-50 ute in October, Mazda has revealed pricing for the upcoming arrivals.

The 2022-model BT-50 lineup sees an entry-level XS grade and premium SP grade added, while a 1.9-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine joins the already available 3.0-litre turbodiesel.
“Giving customers a diverse and comprehensive product offer is a hallmark of the Mazda business,” said Mazda Australia Managing Director, Vinesh Bhindi.
“The addition of a new powertrain, a new entry grade and a stylish new high grade in the SP, combined with ready availability of stock, gives our customers more opportunity to find the right vehicle sooner.”
The new BT-50 XS grade is aimed at the working ute market and combines the new 1.9 engine (that produces 110kW and 350Nm) with a six-speed automatic transmission and will be available in 4x2 single cab chassis, 4x2 dual cab chassis and 4x4 dual cab ute bodies, priced from $33,550, $42,490 and $51,110, respectively.
Aside from the engine and 17-inch steel wheels as standard (alloys on the 4x4s), the XS offers the same specs as the existing 3.0-engined XT grade – the previous entry-level BT-50 – including its 3500kg towing capacity.

At the other end of the scale, the new SP grade supplants the GT as the range-topper (excluding the limited-release Thunder) and introduces a badge, previously available on other Mazda models, to the BT-50 for the first time.
Defined by black and grey exterior trim, black 18-inch alloys, a sailplane sports bar and roller tonneau, the BT-50 SP is only available as a 4x4 dual cab ute with a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine.
Grey side steps and a tubliner are also standard, while inside, the SP takes elements from the GT grade, like the heated front seats and auto-dimming rear mirror, and adds and interior trim in a combination of black and driftwood (dark brown) leather with synthetic suede.

BT-50 SP list pricing starts at $62,990 for the six-speed manual and $65,990 for the six-speed auto.
Local arrival of the new variants, along with the rest of the MY22 BT-50 lineup, is expected in January, 2022.
