Lexus updates UX for 2021
Enhancements include more responsive acceleration, smoother gearshifts, a quieter cabin, increased luggage space and improved safety equipment.

Acceleration is now more refined and responsive due to recalibration of the integrated powertrain control electronics. A smoother drive when starting off and coming to a halt has been pursued with revised control of clutch oil pressure, producing more seamless switching between the mechanical first gear and belt transfer mechanisms.
Refinements to the Lexus Direct Shift CVT transmission have resulted in a “more engaging and comfortable driving experience”.
More sound-deadening material has been added to the cabin, including key areas of the boot floor.
In UX 200 petrol variants, increased luggage space was achieved by expanding the lower deck height. The result is an additional 50 and 90 litres (approximately) for up to 424 litres of space, depending on wheel choice. For hybrid UX 250h variants, the flexible cargo area now offers 368 litres of space with the adoption of a double deck-tray.

Finally, Road Sign Assist technology in the Lexus Safety System suite can now detect school-zone speed signs, while Type-C USB ports have been added to the rear-seat console.
The new entry-level UX is still the 2WD 200 Luxury, but the new version is available from $44,445 - a reduction of more than $2,000 compared with the outgoing UX 200 Luxury. To achieve the savings, a bunch of previously standard features on this model have been moved to a new, optional ‘Enhancement Pack 1’. Components of the pack include LED fog lamps, roof rails, parking support brake, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, smart entry system and DAB+ digital radio. Additional Enhancement Packs up the price, bringing the Luxury grade closer to the mid-level F Sport grade.
As with the previous year’s UX lineup, AWD remains exclusive to the F Sport and premium Sports Luxury grades in 2021. UX F Sport pricing starts at $55,750 in 2WD and $64,100 in AWD. UX Sports Luxury pricing starts at $55,250 for 2WD and $63,600 for AWD. Enhancement Packs for these grades are also available.
