Jaguar updates F-Pace
Jaguar are introducing new and updated features to their F-Pace SUV, with enhanced driver assistance systems, upgraded infotainment and connectivity, improved wellbeing and cabin comfort features, plus mild-hybrid systems on the six-cylinder engines.
A few styling tweaks have been made, too, including reshaped head and tail lights and reshaped bonnet.

Six with Electric
For the Australian market, the F-Pace is offered in R-Dynamic form with four- and six-cylinder engines, as well as the SVR powered by a petrol V8 that sits at the top of the range.
All six-cylinder engines are now matched to a 48-volt mild hybrid system for what Jaguar says is greater refinement and improved efficiency.
The F-Pace’s MHEV technology consists of a Belt integrated Starter Generator (BiSG) that recuperates energy lost during braking or deceleration and stores it in a compact 48-volt lithium-ion battery. This stored energy is redeployed to assist the engine when accelerating from standstill, enhancing responsiveness. This system also makes the stop-start function quieter and faster than conventional systems.
Irrespective of engine choice, all F-Pace variants feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard, with paddle shifters allowing manualised gear changes.

On the F-Pace R-Dynamic, the lineup starts with the P250 R-Dynamic S that’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine producing 184kW and 365Nm. The same drivetrain features on the P250 R-Dynamic SE.
Stepping up to the P400 R-Dynamic SE, the MHEV system matched to this model’s 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine and ‘e-supercharged’ electric motor delivers a combined 294kW and 550Nm. The same outputs apply to the P400 R-Dynamic HSE.
The F-Pace SVR retains its 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 that puts out 294kW and 550Nm.
The only diesel F-Pace still offered, the D300 R-Dynamic SE is powered by a 3.0-litre series-sequential turbo six and uses a similar MHEV set-up to the petrol six, producing 221kW and 650Nm.

A Cleaner, Safer Cabin
Improving the in-cabin environment of the latest F-Pace is a new Cabin Air Purification Plus system that adds ‘Air Purge’ and ‘Cabin Co2 Sensing’ features.
Air Purge uses the F-Pace’s climate control system to freshen the air inside the vehicle before the doors are opened. This is achieved either by setting a departure time through the infotainment touchscreen or via the Jaguar Remote App.
Cabin CO2 sensing monitors and regulates interior carbon dioxide levels, which can increase if the climate control system operates in recirculation mode for long periods. To ensure the levels remain within desired limits, the feature can enable more fresh air to be admitted.

Simpler Tech
While already well-equipped on the safety front, the F-Pace update will add Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist (ACC/SA) to the suite of active safety technologies.
Self-sealing tyres are a new feature, too.
ACC/SA gently assists steering, acceleration and braking to centre the vehicle in lane while maintaining a set distance from vehicles ahead. The new tyres feature an integrated sealant layer within the tyre cavity that surrounds an object that punctures the tread to form an air-tight seal. These tyres are not available on the SVR or F-Paces fitted with 22-inch wheels.
