Inall unveils new Challenger for Australasian Safari
The team of Robert Inall and Harvey Smith, both from NSW, will be competing for production class honours with the Challenger, their focus specifically being on success in the diesel category. The Challenger, a 2.5 litre turbo diesel has backing from MINEFORCE, Mitsubishi's Specialised Mining Vehicle Division.
The team see the Safari as the perfect opportunity to display the capabilities of the Challenger, which is a popular choice with mining companies in and around the areas that the Safari will take place.
The main modifications to the race vehicle over a showroom Challenger are upgraded suspension, larger fuel tank and the regular safety requirements. The team are confident that the Challenger's performance in the Safari will be a great promotion for the vehicle that can be used as either a family wagon, a seriously capable off roader or personnel transport within the mining and construction industries.
Robert Inall has twenty years experience forest rallying at state and club level in NSW, but this year will see him finally realise a long-held dream of competing in the Australasian Safari.
