HYUNDAI UNVEILS NEW CONCEPT SUV

The Busan Motor Show in Korea saw Hyundai unveil a new concept vehicle – the HDC-2 ‘Grandmaster’. Described as an elaboration of Hyundai’s ‘Sensous Sportiness’ future design direction that debuted last year with the HDC-1 ‘Le Fil Rouge’ concept, the Grandmaster concept is a large SUV with a VERY bold grille and distinctive headlight treatment.

According to Hyundai, the concept was designed through the harmonization of four key elements – proportion, architecture, styling and technology – thereby bringing emotional value and desirability.

That combination of several different pieces inspired the chess-themed Grandmaster name, with Hyundai adding that all their future vehicles will form a harmonious line-up, demonstrating the Hyundai Look while maintaining a distinctive character and role.

The new approach of this ‘Light Architecture’ creates what Hyundai says is a perfect silhouette to the front and the rear, with technological innovation coupled spectacular design and a comfortable experience for drivers and passengers. The design elements of Sensuous Sportiness will be applied to Hyundai’s upcoming sedan and SUV models.
