Haval expands Jolion range with ‘Vanta’

GWM Haval Australia & New Zealand have released a new ‘Vanta’ limited-edition variant of their Jolion SUV.

Inspired by the limited-edition H6 Vanta, which was a sellout for Haval when it was released in January, the package on the smaller Jolion follows a similar theme and is limited to cosmetic alterations to the Jolion Ultra, which is the premium grade offered locally.

Mars Red metallic paint is exclusive to the Jolion Vanta and the only exterior colour offered for the limited edition. Complementing this are black roof rails, black lower bumper trim and black trim for the fog lamps and doors. The Jolion Ultra’s 18-inch alloys get the blackout treatment for the Vanta, too.

There are no additional or altered interior components as part of the Vanta package, so that means the 5-seat cabin is unchanged from the Jolion Ultra.

As the premium Jolion variant, the Ultra includes, as standard, features like Comfort-Tek artificial leather upholstery, a dual digital driver display, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, six-speaker stereo, dual-zone climate control, keyless starting and a panoramic sunroof.

Standard safety tech includes ABS, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian & Bicycle Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition and a 360-degree camera.

The Jolion Vanta is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s common across all Jolion variants. Producing 110kW and 220Nm, and with listed fuel economy of 8.1lt/100km, this engine is matched to a dual-clutch seven-speed auto driving the front wheels (no AWD version is offered).

With maximum luggage capacity of 1133 litres, the Jolion Vanta has a braked towing capacity of 1500kg.

Only 500 units of the Jolion Vanta have been released, priced from $34,485 driveaway, which is a $1,495 premium over the Jolion Ultra it’s based on.

Like all GWM/Haval models, the Jolion Vanta is backed by a 7-year unlimited km warranty, with 5 years roadside assist and 5 years capped price servicing.
