2014 Holden Captiva 7 LTZ

Very low kms
Holden’s first true family SUV, the Captiva arrived in 2006, replacing the Commodore-based Adventra. From the beginning, the Captiva proved to be a strong seller against mid-sized rivals that include Ford’s Territory and the Toyota Kluger.
By 2014, the Captiva was in the third year of its ‘Series 2’ spec that had seen engine options revised, a new engine introduced and ‘Captiva 5’ and ‘Captiva 7’ nameplates added to clarify the seating capacity.
A new LTZ grade also arrived with the Series 2, equipped and priced above the LS and LT grades.
On the Series 2 Captiva LS, a 103kW/220Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive was standard, while the LT and LTZ received the new 190kW/288Nm 3.0-litre petrol V6 (replacing a 3.2 V6) and all-wheel drive. A new, 135kW/400Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder (replacing a 2.0lt T/D four) was optional on all grades, but a six-speed sports automatic was the only transmission available across the range.
In 2014, diesels were the popular choice with Captiva buyers (prior to the VW dieselgate scandal that broke in late-2015), but the petrol V6 is arguably the better buy today, despite being less fuel efficient, at a listed 10.1lt/100km (combined cycle).
On AWD Captivas, drive was biased toward the front wheels, but up to 50 per cent could be sent to the rear axle via an on-demand system. Traction control, electronic stability control, hill descent control, a hill holder, lots of lower-body plastic cladding and front and rear scuff plates made the Captiva seem suitable for off-roaing, but in factory form, only mildly rough terrain was recommended.
As the top-grade Captiva 7, a 2014 LTZ like this one came standard with features that were optional or unavailable on the lower grades, like 19-inch alloys, leather seats, front parking sensors, a rear-view camera and 7.0-inch centre touchscreen with satnav. A DVD plyer for the rear seats was available, while the sunroof was a no-cost option across the Captiva 7 range.
Seating for seven is in the 2-3-2 configuration, but the Captiva 7’s smaller external dimensions compared to some of its medium-sized SUV rivals meant the rearmost seats were suitable for children only. With all seats occupied, there was 95 litres of boot space. This expanded to 465 litres with the third row folded, and 930 litres with the second row folded. Both rows folded flat, making it easier to load large, bulky items. All three seat rows offered cupholders, with other storage areas located throughout the interior. Roof rails were standard, too.
Beyond the aforementioned off-road assistance tech, front parking sensors and rear-view camera, other safety features on the 2014 Captiva 7 LTZ included ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat anchors and six airbags, including side curtain airbags, although these didn’t extend to the third-row seats.
Comfort and convenience features included dual-zone air con, keyless starting, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth, an electric park brake, 12V sockets, auto headlights, side steps and powered/heated external mirrors.
The Captiva 7’s key measures and dimensions include a 65-litre fuel tank, 4673mm x 1849mm x 1727mm (LxWxH), a 2707mm wheelbase and 2000kg braked towing capacity.
This particular Captiva 7 LTZ has a very low 60,820km on the odometer and is described as being in great condition. Visit Car Sales Express at Car City Ringwood for more details, or click HERE.
