Conquest Knight XV

This one of a kind - just 100 units will be built - was inspired by military vehicle designs and features security appointments that are unrivaled in today's SUV marketplace. It was manufactured as an armoured vehicle from the ground up using top-grade armouring materials.

The vehicle is totally hand built, with each SUV taking about 4,000 hours.

It is a monster of a truck and makes the Hummer look like a dinky toy next to it. With a wheelbase of 141-inches, a height of 100-inches and width of 98-inches parking may be an issue. It is powered by a GM 6.0-litre V8 petrol, or Cummins 6.7-litre turbo-diesel engine through a 5-speed auto transmission. Its chassis is from a Freightliner truck and it rides on 385/65 Rx22.5 wide tyres.

The armour material used on the Knight XV is tested at a range of five metres using factory ammunition, with each vehicle sold with a Certificate of Ballistics Quality.

Standard features in the Knight XV's armouring package include highest standard armour material, firewall protection where necessary and reinforced door hinges.

Security equipment includes night vision cameras mounted front and rear on individual screens, roof mounted rear camera, transparent, tinted armoured glass throughout, and ASC Ballistic run flat tyre system.

Once cocooned in the Knight XV, occupants enjoy 6-way adjustable leather conference seating, luxury woollen carpet, AM/FM/CD/DVD, navigation and Bluetooth equipment, suede interior finish throughout, interior lighting, dual screen rear console, personal rear seat side mounted laptop stations, plus a long list of optional equipment.

The Knight XV is available from exclusive US custom vehicle builder Conquest for a cool US$310,000.
