Brisbane 4x4 Show returns for 2021
After last year’s event was cancelled a fortnight out from opening day, Brisbane’s National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo is back for 2021, scheduled for 19 to 21 March at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
Combining the best products from the 4x4 aftermarket, the latest in campers, caravans and camping accessories, as well as fishing and boating, tourism and apparel, the event also features live entertainment, informative presentations and interactive displays.
After missing out last year, Brisbanites are in for a show that’ll be bigger and better than ever this year, according to event organisers, Exhibitions and Trade Fairs.
“Since the 2020 event was sadly cancelled due to the pandemic, we have been working very hard with Brisbane Showgrounds and our exhibitors to put together some great new attractions that will appeal to attendees of all backgrounds and ages,” said Event Director, Jon Perry.
New Attractions
One of those new attractions is ‘The Rig Gallery: Show ‘n’ Shine,’ a competition where owners of road-registered 4x4s can show off their rigs, from tradie-spec outfits to tarmac tractors and highly modified specials. Categories include Rough & Tumble, Tough Tradie, Terrific Tourer, Highway Hero, Urban Stallion and Ace of Clubs. Pre-enter your 4WD rig via the National 4x4 Show website - 4x4show.com.au/brisbane
Another fresh addition for 2021 is the ‘4x4 Technical & Training Centre,’ where you can pick up expert advice on a range of specialist areas, preparing you and your vehicle for that next big trip.
The Reptile Kingdom, which was due to make its debut last year, has been locked in for 2021, too. Allowing hands-on interaction with a wide variety of fascinating reptiles, The Reptile Kingdom also provides important snake safety tips.
Returning Attractions
Favourites on the National 4x4 Outdoors Show programme that are returning for 2021 include the ever-popular Action Arena, where All Wheels Entertainment and the nation’s number one stuntman, Matt Mingay and his son Madzy Evel, will provide plenty of thrills and spills.
The Outback Stage will present some of the biggest names in off-roading, including Jase and Simon from All 4 Adventure, Pat Callinan (Mr 4x4), Shauno and Graham from 4WD 24/7 and Sam Eyles from Built Not Bought, amongst others. Making their debut on The Outback Stage this year will be Bill Callinan (Pat’s son) and The Blonde Nomads.
The Proving Ground, presented by Motorama 4x4xMORE, allows visitors able to experience a range of activities driving selected 4x4s over a variety of simulated terrain and surface types. Moved to a new location within the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Proving Ground will be bigger and better than ever this year.
Ensuring COVID safety
A COVID-safe plan is in place for this year’s show, including caps on entry numbers, pre-purchased tickets, staggered entry times and extended opening hours to ensure the safety of patrons and exhibitors alike.
All attendees are advised to read the specific rules around this year’s event before making plans and purchasing tickets.
“Strict crowd caps are in place, meaning that it is important to get in early and pre-purchase your tickets online. Also, to allow as many people as possible, we have extended the opening hours of the Show on all three days,” Perry added.
All tickets, including for children and infants, must be purchased online prior the event as there will be no sales at the gate. Each person entering must have a registered ticket.
Ticket numbers will be limited by hour of entry, and once an entry timeslot is sold out, the website will display all other available times. Patrons must select their preferred time of entry and will not be able to enter the Show before the ticketed entry time.
Adult tickets are $20 per day, pensioners are $17, while children under 16 years of age admitted free, but a ticket is still required. Two-day adult tickets are $35 each, valid for Friday plus one weekend day only. These tickets are non-transferable.
If the Show is cancelled due to changed COVID restrictions, refunds will be available, less any service fee.
To further limit on-site numbers, opening hours have been extended - 8am to 6pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 5pm on Sunday.
While there are multiple ways to get to and from the Brisbane Showgrounds, more onsite parking has been made available to cater to those driving to the show.
