Range Rover Sport SVR previewed in UK

As part of Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) offshoot of Jaguar Land Rover, all future high-performance Land Rover/Range Rover variants will carry the 'SVR' designation. The Range Rover Sport SVR is expected to go on sale in most markets in 2015.

Details of the SVR's powertrain are still under wraps, but Land Rover are claiming a 404kW output. Land Rover says performance data for the SVR will extend the Range Rover Sport's already-established capabilities as the fastest, most agile and most responsive Land Rover built, as part of the SVO team brief that all future SVR models need to meet stringent key performance criteria in order to wear the SVR badge.

The high performance SVR versions will be built alongside existing models and sold through the Land Rover dealer network in the usual way.
