PREVIEW – 2024 Brisbane 4x4 Outdoors Show
This year’s National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane is locked in, with the Brisbane Showgrounds the venue to see, try, buy, experience and enjoy everything to do with the outdoor lifestyle this March.
Over three big days – 15 to 17 March - the National 4x4 Outdoors Show will present the newest and best gear from all the top brands in the industry, like ARB, Opposite Lock, MSA, Ironman 4x4, TJM and Piranha Off Road, to name a few. With more than 200 stall holders, you’ll be able to find everything you need for enhancing your 4x4, improving your camping experience, getting the most out of your weekend getaway or just enjoying the great outdoors.
The tourism and travel industries are also a major part of the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, along with what’s tipped to be the biggest display of off-road camper trailers and caravans that the Brisbane event has ever seen.
“We are thrilled to be bringing the show back to the Brisbane Showgrounds this March, and have a plethora of new, improved and exciting features to excite even the most seasoned outdoor lover,” said Jon Perry, Event Director.
“There will once again be a wide range of show-only specials and bargains, together with an array of interactive displays, tips and insider hacks, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a must attend.”
New for 2024
Making its Brisbane debut this year is Mount Maxxis, which combines education with entertainment. On a genuinely challenging obstacle course, MadMatt will show his amazing skills in a vehicle provided by Opposite Lock, demonstrating the capability of modern 4x4s when driven correctly. Mount Maxxis shows run five times each day and should not be missed!
Also debuting in 2024 is the 4WD QLD Adventure Zone, which brings 4WD driving clubs into one space and also features the ‘Tracks N Trips’ stage hosted by Dingo Dave. Alongside other experienced off-roaders, Dingo Dave will share his tips and advice for finding - and conquering – some of the best 4x4 tracks in Australia, along with other info for maximising your next 4x4 adventure. Vehicle recovery demos by RTO will also be running in the 4WD QLD Adventure Zone each day.
Show Favourites
The National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane wouldn’t be a show without the popular Outback Stage, The Camp Oven Cook, Black Snake Productions wildlife show and more.
Ricko from Australia Rediscovered is hosting the Outback Stage at Brisbane, where the cream of Australia’s off-roading personalities will share stories and answer questions. This year’s lineup includes Jase and Simon from All 4 Adventure, 4WD 24/7’s Jesse and Graham, Bridget from Red Dirt Diary, Matt Baker from The Explore Life and the boys from Aussie Arvos. Ricko will share his adventures, too.
Away from the Outback Stage, the crew from Built Not Bought, Girls Day Out and Shed Life/No Wasted Weekends will be stallholders, ready and willing to talk all things 4x4ing with you.
The wildlife shows presented by Black Snake Productions have been a hit with young and old alike, presenting the opportunity to see our incredible fauna up close and get a photo. These shows also provide valuable advice on what to do when encountering native reptiles in the wild.
Mick Villa, aka The Camp Oven Cook, returns to demystify camp oven cooking. Showing how delicious meals can be made easily with your camp oven, Mick will run three demo sessions each day – with a chance to taste test the results!
The Isuzu Iron Summit is back, too, offering punters a thrill ride at crazy 45-degree angles. Demonstrating the torque, control and safety technologies in the latest Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X, the Iron Summit is a real experience.
Take a Break, Treat the Kids
There’s so much to see and do at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane that you’ll need to take a breather. That’s where The Outback Bar comes in. Combining a cold beverage or two with live music, The Outback Bar is a great spot to refresh and relax before resuming the 4x4 Show experience and picking up more of those essentials for your 4x4 or camping holiday.
For a top feed, the Brisbane Showgrounds’ Alex Laneway will be loaded with food trucks each day, offering options to satisfy just about any palate.
Under 16s are catered for in the Kids Zone (managed by Physi Kids), providing all-day entertainment and activities for the young ones.
Best Rigs
A recent addition to the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, the Club 4x4 Insurance Show N Shine has become one of the most popular attractions. And pretty competitive, too, with 4x4 owners coming from all over Queensland and beyond to showcase their vehicles.
This year, there are big-dollar vouchers from TWD 4x4 and Opposite Lock to be won, while Salt Shift are providing their ‘Ultimate Off-Road Wash Kit’ (valued at $375) for each winner in the Rough & Tumble and Terrific Tourer categories.
Along with the two main judging categories, the Show N Shine has sub-categories for pre- and post-1998 vehicles, ensuring 4x4s of all ages and eras can compete. Based on last year’s turn-out, competition is expected to be fierce, so make sure you check it out. You’re sure to find inspiration for customising your own rig, too.
Win at the Show
If you want to pick the brain of All 4 Adventure’s Jase Andrews and the Outback Stage sessions aren’t long enough, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show Brisbane is running a competition where you can win a private, 30-minute Q&A session with the off-roading legend, as well as a run up Mount Maxxis with Jase at the wheel.
Many stallholders run their own competitions and giveaways, while show specials across the three days means you can save big on new gear, too.
BONUS - Purchase your entry ticket/s before midnight on Sunday, 10 March, and you’ll go into the draw to win $1,000 spending money at the show.
