New drive away pricing for Suzuki's S-Cross
Available in two spec levels - GL and GLX - the S-Cross compact SUV is a successor to the SX4, powered by a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, with 5-speed manual and CVT auto transmission options.
Built around a sturdy body, but with high tensile steel construction that reduces weight, the S-Cross is finished in what Suzuki claims is a highly aerodynamic body that reduces drag and thus improves fuel efficiency.
The AWD system is Suzuki's 'ALLGRIP' technology, a new generation system that combines AWD ability with economy and minimal environmental impact. The ALLGRIP found in the S-Cross is four-mode selectable: auto, snow, sport and lock.
Other features include disc brakes all round (ventilated fronts) with ABS and EBD, ESC, traction control, seven airbags and body safety modifications in line with Suzuki's TECT (Total Effective Technology Control) concept.
Dimensions are 4.3-metres long, with a 2.6-metre wheelbase, and decent front and rear seat space for a vehicle of its size. Luggage space is a best-in-class 430 litres.
The S-Cross is also the first vehicle to feature a double panoramic glass sunroof, which is exclusive to the GLX Prestige.
"Value for money has always been a cornerstone for Suzuki and the S-Cross now represents an outstanding investment," said Suzuki Australia Automobiles General Manager Tony Devers.
"We built the S-Cross with Australian consumers in mind, delivering on the key requirements of fuel economy and interior space. The new S-Cross is class leading for both.
"Now, with drive away pricing, it means the S-Cross is clearly a class leader in value for money," Devers said.
