Jeep release Grand Cherokee ‘Summit’ Edition
With exclusive styling touches, the Grand Cherokee Summit also features premium interior appointments, including ‘NaturaPlus’ soft leather seats and a 19-speaker, 825-watt Harmon Kardon premium audio system.
“Positioned over the current Overland trim, Summit goes one step further in providing the ultimate luxury a Grand Cherokee can offer,” said Guillaume Drelon, Director, Brand & Product Strategy.
“Without compromising Jeep’s legendary capabilities, Summit is providing an extra edge of adventure, bringing to market the best combination of on-road refinement, technology and comfort with best in class off-road capabilities.”
Externally, front and rear fascias are unique to the Grand Cherokee Summit, while the wheelarch flares, lower sills, mirror caps and door handles are finished in body colour. The standard Platinum package adds satin silver treatments to the grille, badging, side window surrounds, roof rails and other exterior trimmings, as well as the 20-inch wheels.
As well as the NaturaPlus leather on the seats, instrument panel and centre armrest, the interior gets illuminated sill plates, berber cargo and floor mats, and a premium headliner. Optional upgrades include a ‘Signature Leather Wrapped Interior Package’ that adds premium quilted Laguna leather to the seats, door cards, centre console and glovebox.
FCA’s Uconnect system and 8.4-inch centre touchscreen are standard, with the performance of the Harmon Kardon sound system enhanced by active noise cancellation technology and acoustic glass.
The Grand Cherokee Summit is powered by a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 that’s been updated this year and offers 184kW and 570Nm. Matched to an 8-speed ZF auto with Quadra-Drive II full-time four-wheel drive and low range, combined fuel economy is 7.0lt/100km.
Also standard is Quadra-Lift air suspension and a rear electronic LSD, as well as Jeep’s safety tech that includes Forward Collison Warning Plus, Lane Departure Warning Plus, Rear Cross Path Detection and Advanced Brake Assist. Driver assistance tech includes front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and Parallel & Perpendicular Park Assist.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is available now, priced from $84,450 (+ ORCs).
