Focussed on “street appeal” rather than off-road ability, the SportsCat RS is broadly similar to the existing SportsCat models with its special wheel and tyre combination, retuned suspension and premium interior, but adds its own styling upgrades from nose to tail.
Available only in Summit White, cosmetic features on the SportsCat RS include a gloss black grille, lower fascia, fascia inserts and splash tray, while the power-bulge bonnet from the SportsCat+ is highlighted with red and black decals that also feature on the door sills, standard hard tonneau and tailgate. Bold HSV branding in red and black features on the ute tub, foglamps are upgraded to LEDs, with wheelarch flares and an alloy sports bar fitted as standard. The HSV hard tonneau has a quick-release mechanism and load rail provision.
Forged alloy 18 x 10-inch 6-spoke wheels from the SportsCat+ are fitted with the same Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports all-terrain tyres that are standard on all SportsCat variants. HSV says these tyres offer the perfect balance between off-road capability and on-road ride and handling comfort.
An HSV Sports Suspension package lifts ride height by 45mm at the front and increases track by 30mm compared to the Colorado Z71, which, combined with re-tuning of the Electronic Stability Control and Multi Tune Valve dampers , delivers a firmer, more performance-biased ride.

While the regular Colorado’s Duramax 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel is unchanged, delivering 147kW and 500Nm, the 6-speed auto transmission with Active Select is standard for the limited-edition – no manual transmission is offered.
Inside, the SportCat RS includes premium SV Sports bucket front seats trimmed in a combination of black Jasmine leather and Windsor suede that also features on the instrument panel. Red-contrast stitching on these elements is also applied to the centre console cover, door trims and leather-wrapped steering wheel. SportsCat-branded floor mats also feature.
Limited to 100 units (94 for Australia, 6 for New Zealand), the HSV Colorado SportsCat RS is priced from $63,990 (+ ORCs); effectively placing it between the standard SportsCat and premium SportsCat +.
An optional AP Racing premium brake package, made up of 362 x 32mm front rotors and 4-piston calipers, adds $1,995, with a $300 tubliner also optional.
