D-Max on patrol

Two D-Max vehicles have already been fitted out with 'prisoner pods' and another two will be similarly kitted. These vehicles will be used exclusively for offender transport and are equipped with an auxiliary air-conditioner to service the pod.

Queensland Police are unique among Australian state and territory police forces in that they buy their own vehicles and maintain their own vehicle engineering works. This differs from the other area commands, which contract these functions out to vehicle leasing operators and their subcontractors.
