The all new Actyon Coupe Sport utility five door and its roomy sibling the Actyon Sports dual cab ute will spearhead the SsangYong attack on the Australian market in 2007. With pricing starting from $26,990 for the 4x2 Actyon Coupe Sports petrol and $29,990 for the 4x2 Actyon Sports ute diesel, both models are set to add some heat to the new car market. Both the Actyon Coupe Sports and the Actyon Sports ute will offer SsangYong's third generation common rail Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) diesel engine with a class leading 104kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. SsangYong Australia general manager sales and marketing, Brad Larkham, believes that both Actyon models will redefine the compact 4WD sector with innovative styling and a combination of fuel-efficient diesel power and latest technology European developed drivelines. "We are calling Actyon a Coupe Sport utility because its sweeping styling and coupe like appearance is far removed from the average compact SUV," said Brad Larkham. "We are hoping that both Actyon models will redefine their particular buyer segment, offering buyers a real alternative to the current models on offer," Larkham said. "Interestingly the availability of a fuel efficient diesel was a critical factor amongst the buyers we researched and this proved a major attraction for the Actyon," he added.

Actyon is expected to draw plenty of attention at the Brisbane Show thanks to its unique cross-over styling setting it apart from the average SUV. Both Actyon models have an aerodynamic shape, a shark-like grille and eagle eye headlights making it the most dynamic looking vehicle in the compact 4WD category. "It's certainly not a typically boxy 4WD and will stand out for all the right reasons," said Brad Larkham. The ESP system offered on both models is the latest fifth generation multi function unit which is integrated with all of the Actyon's systems including the electronically controlled 4 wheel drive. Coupled to this will be the availability of Hill Descent Control on some models while the electronic 4WD System ensures efficient driving in all conditions. The Actyon's on road performance will surprise with its excellent handling dynamics and sure-footed stance. At the same time its off road capabilities are not compromised with an extremely good attack and departure angle with very little overhang.
