The car has taken us through the whole of Australia, coast to coast and in numerous National parks without any major problems. It drives perfectly well both on sealed roads as on rough 4x4WD tracks. We are the first backpackers in this car and have because of that tried to take extremely good care of it and not done any permanent changes when we installed the bedframe and etc. Therefor it can easily be exchanged with the original 5 seats we removed if wanted. This is the perfect car for any backpackers or travellers, as the car is allready fully equipped with everything you may need, really reliable and well kept. We have done 30 000kms on our travelling and the car has been serviced and fixed every time a problem has occured, big or small. What we have done on the car (we have receipts from most of it): - New alternator - Left side idler arm - Oilchanges and new oilfilters - A/C service - 2 brand new A/T backtires (changed at 218 000km) +++ **SHORTCOMINGS** The car is a '98 model and even though it is REALLY well kept there are of course a couple of shortcomings. When we bought the car we were informed of this and has since then not expirienced anything else than what you can normally expect from cars as worn parts etc. Trying to make life easier for all of us and not hide away any details we find it fairly reliefing to be honest about the shortcomings. *The car has worn screws on both front callipers. We got a mechanic to check it up when we bought it and he told us it is nothing to worry about, it's just a annoying "click"-sound if you brake hard or accelerate really hard, but nothing critical. On the latest service of the vehicle in Darwin (2months ago) we asked specifically about this again when they changed the idler arm, and was also then reassured that it is nothing to worry about. It could easily be fixed but it is no need to as long as you don't get bothered by the sound. *There has been a minor oil leak since we bought the car, the leak is stable and almost undetectable, but once in a while you can smell that a drop of oil hits a warm surface. The leak has of course been looked at and everyone that's taken a look at it says it's nothing to worry about and that it is probably for the best not to change anything as long as the car runs as it does, and that the leak doesn't get worse. *There are a couple of small scratches in the paint and the plastic parts on the back fender have some scratches and marks. *There is a tiny stone chip on front window on the passenger side. (see picture) *The tinted windows are "do it urself-film" and not the most cosmetical beauty if you go in detail, but it does it's job.
