Tough old Nissan Utility. 4 speed column shift manual 4x2 “Nuggett” model with a 2L petrol Z20 Engine. Low 236,000 kilometres for its age. Currently registered and driven on a daily basis. I’ve owned this since 1995 and I’m the second owner. First owner was Telecom (Telstra these days). This is a reliable workhorse. Never misses a beat and has very good fuel economy. Has a custom commercial canopy with zips on every side so it can take a huge variety of different cargo. The canopy alone cost me over $3000 a few years ago and is still in great condition. Drives perfectly for a vehicle that’s over 32 years old. The engine runs so smoothly that it sounds better than a lot of newer cars. Idles beautifully and never overheats. Doesn’t blow smoke or loose oil. Body is straight. Has usual minor dents and chips as you’d expect in a car this age but no proper rust. I use to spray fisholene through the panels which has helped to keep it rust free. Has 5x good Dunlop commercial grade tyres- still in roadworthy condition. Spare has 100% tread and has never been used. Amazingly I’ve never had a puncture in this vehicle in the 27 years I’ve owned it which is either really good luck or just good quality tough tyres??? I replaced the stereo system a few years ago with a pioneer head unit that has Bluetooth and USB and installed kenwood speakers. Earlier this year it got a new starter battery and just last year I had the exhaust system replaced. The ute had a major service, full coolant flush and coil, plugs, leads and points replaced last year too. Water pump was replaced in 2019, and got a new starter motor in 2015. Currently registered but being sold unregistered as it will need some things sorted out to pass a roadworthy certificate. Things that I know of are- Window washer reservoir is perished and needs replacing. Window washer is not spraying. Speedo needle and fuel gauge needle are sticking and not reading correctly. There probably will be other things that a roadworthy guy would pick up (as they always do), but to me it seems fine otherwise. I drive it all the time and it brakes, steers and drives just fine.
